CURRICULUM: WEEK OF MAY 31ST

May 30, 2026

One of the biggest challenges in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu isn’t learning an armbar, escaping side control, or even showing up for your first class. Often, the biggest challenge is protecting your attention long enough to take meaningful action.

We all have goals. Maybe you want to earn your next stripe, compete for the first time, lose weight, gain confidence, or simply become more consistent with your training. The problem is that progress rarely disappears because of a lack of desire. More often, it gets delayed because our attention gets pulled in a hundred different directions. Social media, notifications, news, endless opinions, and daily distractions all compete for the same limited resource. Before we know it, another week, month, or even year has passed, and we’re still talking about what we’re going to do instead of actually doing it.

The truth is that your future success is built by the choices you make today. The future version of yourself doesn’t magically become stronger, healthier, more disciplined, or more skilled. That person is created by the actions you take right now. Every class attended, every technique practiced, every small step forward is a deposit into the person you’re becoming. Protect your attention. Guard it carefully. Don’t give it away to things that don’t move you toward the life you want to live.

If you’ve been thinking about starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, improving your fitness, or becoming part of our incredible community, don’t wait for the “perfect time.” Take action today so that six months from now you’ll be grateful that you did and your future self will thank you for getting started.
