Progress, Perseverance, and Supporting Our Team | Weekly BJJ Curriculum
One of the things I love most about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is that there is always something happening on our mats worth celebrating. Sometimes it’s a small breakthrough during class, sometimes it’s watching a student overcome a difficult challenge, and sometimes it’s seeing years of hard work rewarded with a new belt.
This week, we want to once again congratulate Andrew on earning his blue belt! Reaching this milestone in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is no small accomplishment, and we’re incredibly proud of the dedication and effort that brought him here. Andrew, congratulations again! We’re excited to see where your journey takes you next.
As we head into Fall Break, we’re also making a few adjustments to our schedule. We understand that families have different plans during school breaks, and we want to make sure everyone still has an opportunity to train. This week, our 3–6-year-old class normally held at 4:15 PM will join our 7–12-year-old students at 4:45 PM. We hope this temporary adjustment makes things a little easier for everyone while keeping our younger students engaged and learning.
We also want to remind everyone that there will be no Saturday classes this week as several of our teammates will be competing at the NAGA tournament! Competition is another wonderful part of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey. It takes courage to step onto the competition mats, test yourself against unfamiliar opponents, and put your training into action. Win or lose, we’re proud of everyone willing to challenge themselves, and we hope you’ll join us in wishing our competitors the very best!
At Otomi Martial Arts in Parker, Colorado, we believe Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is about much more than learning techniques or earning belts. It’s about developing confidence, discipline, resilience, and learning to support one another along the way. Whether you’re a young beginner, a parent considering martial arts for your child, or an experienced student preparing for competition, there’s always room to grow.
Now, let’s get ready for another great week of training through our Caio Terra Association Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu curriculum!
