CURRICULUM: WEEK OF JUNE 28TH

June 27, 2026

With summer upon us, many students are traveling or planning trips. It is important to remember that life can disrupt your training, especially during the summer season. Learning Jiu-Jitsu takes years, not months. Consistency will be more important than frequency.

Set a goal for yourself of training two or three times a week, and Jiu-Jitsu will become part of your life. This way, when you take a trip or have a major life event, it will be easier to return to training than if you were training multiple times a day, five or six days a week. If you push to train as much as possible and then take a break, you will be more tempted to stay away from the mat and rest longer. We fall into the habit of not training much more easily than we develop the habit of training with consistency.

Every black belt is simply a white belt that didn’t stop training!
