CURRICULUM: WEEK OF FEBRUARY 1ST

February 1, 2026

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more than a sport—it is a journey of growth, discipline, and self-belief for both children and adults. Every class attended, every technique practiced, and every moment of perseverance on the mat builds something deeper than skill alone. In BJJ, achievement isn’t measured only by medals or belt color, but by the courage to try, the patience to learn, and the resilience to keep going when things feel challenging. Each small step forward is a victory, and those victories compound into confidence that carries far beyond the academy.

Positive affirmations to repeat for yourself or your child:
I am capable of learning hard things.
I grow stronger every time I step on the mat.
Mistakes are part of my progress, not a setback.
I respect myself, my coaches, and my teammates.
My effort today builds my success tomorrow.

As parents and practitioners, it’s important to remember that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches lifelong lessons—humility in victory, composure in adversity, and pride in honest effort. When you or your child embrace these affirmations, achievement becomes less about comparison and more about personal growth. In BJJ, we don’t aim to be better than others; we aim to be better than we were yesterday—and that mindset is a powerful win both on and off the mat.
