This past weekend in Kansas City, MO, our athletes from Otomi Martial Arts | Caio Terra BJJ made us incredibly proud with their remarkable performances at the IBJJF Kansas City Open. Competing at such a high level requires intense dedication, skill, and resilience, and our team represented our academy with humility and strength. Gabriel Marangoni: A Clean Sweep in NoGi and Gi
Gabriel Marangoni was a powerhouse this weekend, showcasing a skill set that left no doubt about his abilities. He claimed gold in both the Gi and NoGi divisions and dominated the open classes, bringing home a silver in the Gi open class and a gold in the NoGi open class. Gabriel’s performance exemplifies a perfect blend of strategy, agility, and strength, and we’re beyond proud of his outstanding achievement.
Ranulfo Gonzalez: Moving Ahead in His Divisions
Ranulfo Gonzalez brought home an impressive set of medals, demonstrating his commitment and excellence in both Gi and NoGi competitions. He received the gold medal in his weight category in both divisions, and he also placed bronze in the open class for both Gi and NoGi. Ranulfo’s perseverance and technical precision truly set him apart as our lead coach at Otomi, and these results reflect his hard work and dedication to the Caio Terra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu system.
Eric Hayes: Leading with Determination
Eric Hayes, known for his determination and focus, also had an amazing showing! Eric earned gold in the NoGi open class, silver in both the NoGi and Gi divisions, and bronze in the Gi open class.
