Unlike many other physical activities, in Jiu-Jitsu, we use our entire body. If you’ve just started training, you’ve probably noticed how quickly you get tired. Learning to use your body efficiently is what will make you better faster than any amount of conditioning.
The warm-up movements at the start of class are what we use to teach proper Jiu-Jitsu movement. Master these fundamentals, and it will be far easier to use the techniques in class; every lesson plan uses multiple movements you’ve done many times in the line drills.
Wasted energy results in getting beaten in training. Focus on proper movement, and conserve your energy. This will drain your opponent and level the field against stronger and more athletic opponents. That is Jiu-Jitsu!
