This past weekend, our incredible coaching team from Otomi Martial Arts / Caio Terra Association shined brightly at the IBJJF Phoenix Open, bringing home a total of 10 medals and proving, once again, that hard work, dedication, and team spirit make all the difference!
We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding performances of our coaches:
✨ Coach Eric Hayes led the charge with an impressive 4 medals, showcasing his skill, determination, and relentless drive.
✨ Coach Ranulfo Gonzalez continued his strong competitive streak, earning 3 medals and demonstrating why he is such an inspiring leader for our academy.
✨ Coach João Martins displayed his technical mastery and competitive heart, taking home 2 medals and leaving everything on the mat.
✨ Coach Larry Choi collected a gold medal, capping off a weekend full of learning and growth for everyone involved.
With each tournament, our coaches are getting more dialed in, sharpening their games and building momentum as they prepare for two of the biggest events of the year: the IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Con and the Masters Worlds in Las Vegas this August.
We couldn’t be prouder of the example our coaches set — not just through their results but through their sportsmanship, teamwork, and the inspiration they bring to everyone on our mats.
Please join us in congratulating Coach Eric, Coach Gonzalez, Coach João, and Coach Larry on their fantastic performances. Their achievements remind us all that every step forward — no matter how big or small — is worth celebrating.
Let’s keep the energy high as we look ahead to Las Vegas. The best is yet to come!
